Long Liquid Silver Necklace
Vintage liquid silver necklace 20 strands of sterling silver heishi beads.Lightweight and free flowing liquid silver has been a must have item for southwestern jewelry collectors for years.
The actual necklace is made of mini sterling silver tubular beads know as Heishi beads. "Liquid silver" is a traditional Navajo work. Silver tubular beads are hand-strung together in order to create one or several strands. This gives a fluid aspect to the necklace, that appears to make the necklace look like silk or water running on the skin; explaining why the Navajos gave this special name to this process. This item can be paired with a pendant, however we prefer to wear it alone or layered with other necklaces. The delicate weight of each strand flows better when its not weighed down.
